The passion for cheese runs in the Rupp family. And it is now in ist third generation.
The company founder, Josef Rupp, was already producing cheese on his own at the age of thirteen. He used the money he earned to pay the fees for the Swiss dairy school he attended. It was a good investment.
In 1908 he was the first person in Austria to start manufacturing Emmental cheese following the Swiss recipe. By the 1920s he was already exporting his wheels of Emmental cheese to Italy, Belgium, North Africa and America. The introduction of processed cheese in the mid 1930s led the expansion of both the family company and export sales.

It was in the 1950s that the groundwork for today´s thriving business was laid. Josef Rupp II. smoothed the way for „Enzian Käsle“ and other processed cheese specialities to become successful brands we know today. His wife, Gertrud Rupp, pursued the same progressive ambitions by making decisions that were as bold as they were prudent.
Today, it is the third generation of the enterprising family that shares the responsibility for a company with worldwide connections. And a passion for cheese.
